Cloud Architectures Simplify the Business Case for Modernising Customer Contact | Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

Let's say your marketing department has decided to run a major promotional campaign that's expected to drive a surge in online and telephone traffic, both inbound and outbound, over the next two weeks. The four key challenges of digital transformation and how to tackle them

The four key challenges of digital transformation and how to tackle them | Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

New problems are rarely fixed by applying old thinking. In the last decade a ‘perfect storm’ of change has evolved that requires new thinking – thinking that takes advantage of the digital environment and transforms business as we know it.

Three central factors are at play. First, economic. We have lived through the biggest economic crisis of modern times and it has forced business to fundamentally reevaluate the value they provide to their customers and how this links to shareholder value creation. Second, social. We have a rapidly expanding population that is putting a premium on unique experiences relative to mass produced goods. Third, technological. Technologies are evolving and maturing more rapidly across all industries than at any other time in history.

The big four website types

The big four website types | Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

One of the really interesting aspects of the digital world as it applies to business is just how critical websites are to different businesses. Of course, so reliant are we on them to find out more about the business providing it, it’s fair to say that these days websites are critical to pretty much all businesses.

If we aren’t using websites to provide us with a core product, we are using them to purchase it, order it, find out more about it or just find it at all. In fact many would argue if you don’t offer a good website, you aren’t in business at all – and that’s not far from the truth.

Digital identities to combat the dark internet

Digital identities to combat the dark internet | Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

Almost a generation after the demise of the Hawke government's proposed Australia identity card in 1987, the federal government is contemplating creation of a secure digital identity equivalent for Australian participants in the digital economy.

The process will be overseen by the recently created Federal Digital Transformation Office. It is starting with a request for information, rather than a full-blown tender. This is an increasing trend in several government areas, notably including defence and IT projects, as public servants frankly concede that they need a lot more information on the latest developments before they can construct a technically sound tender invitation.
